Meet Sunshine (Khaing)
I was born and raised in Myanmar (Burma). At 23, I moved to Qatar to work as an international flight attendant with Qatar Airways, spending the next 18 years in the Middle East. The world became my home as I travelled across countless skies, yet I carried a quiet longing within.
After nearly two decades of flying, I felt a call to return home - not to a country, but to a place within myself: to my own breath, to my own being. I eventually answered that call, leaving behind a glamorous career to embrace a more purposeful path.
Now living in London with my husband, I am devoted to studying yoga philosophy, exploring its therapeutic wisdom, and serving the community I live in. I teach to share what I have learnt and experienced, while remaining a humble student on this lifelong journey.
My Yoga Journey
My yoga journey began seven years ago in Ubud, the heartland of yoga and spirituality. My first teacher training was with Mark Whitwell, based on the teaching of T.K.V. Desikachar, son of the legendary T. Krishnamacharya. Under his guidance, I learnt that yoga is for everyone - “If you can breathe, you can do yoga.” This wisdom became the foundation of my practice.
Driven by a deep curiosity, I pursued further training in 2019 with Denise Paye, a master of Hatha Vinyasa. With her, I discovered the art of sequencing and holding space for students. Her philosophy for yoga, “Love yoga for what it is, not for what it does for you,” shaped the way I teach. I began sharing yoga in 2020, offering online classes during the pandemic, helping people nurture their mental health, and building a warm, supportive global community.
In 2024, I stepped away from my corporate life as an international flight attendant and recruitment specialist to fully embrace this path.
Moving to London, I immersed myself in deeper studies of yoga therapy, psychological healing, and advanced training with Stewart Gilchrist, a master rooted in the traditions of yoga and meditation. His style of teaching - Yogasana - is rooted in traditional practice and guided by three technical pillars: breath, bandha, and drishti.
My Style of Yoga
My classes are a blend of breath-centered movement, mindful sequencing, and spiritual grounding. Inspired by my teachers, I integrate the therapeutic essence of the breath, the strength and the wisdom of traditional yoga philosophy. Through the practice, we all come back home to ourselves.
“One breath, one movement at a time”.
